PESHAWAR: Based on a tip, the Badh Bir police station received information about the presence of a wanted criminal, Waheed son of Zahid, who was involved in a case registered on October 26, 2023.
Upon approaching the suspect, the police party faced gunfire as the criminal resisted arrest. A constable was tragically shot and succumbed to his injuries while being transported to the hospital.
Reacting swiftly, police deployed a large contingent and initiated an intelligence-based search operation to apprehend the culprit. Strategic measures included setting up roadblocks in various locations to restrict movement.
The operation successfully traced Waheed’s location. A well-coordinated raid was planned and executed, leading to another exchange of fire. While the police party maintained cover, the suspect was unfortunately shot and killed.
A Kalashnikov was recovered from the scene during the operation. This incident highlights the continuous efforts of the Peshawar police to combat crime and ensure the safety of the community.
